PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY, AFFORDABLE CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SINCE 1946
Our school accepts children of all colors, race and creed at their own level of development. Most of our learning is done through play (songs, games, free exploration and discussion). We strive to create a comfortable learning environment that fosters healthy social skills and a lifelong love of learning.

TEACHER ALLYSON
Teacher Allyson has been involved with Oregon city Preschool since 2010, with both her children attending. Teacher Allyson fell in love with the philosophy of the school and the community feel it brought. She became teacher assistant from 2013-2016, leaving the school to finish her degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies. Filling in as a sub occasionally when needed. In 2020 Teacher Kellie was planning to retire the following year after 21 years of service at Oregon City Preschool. Allyson then proceeded Kellie as head teacher, being the 4th teacher Oregon City Preschool has had.
“I fell in love with the community feel and how parents were encouraged to be part of their child’s education. When you are a parent of a cooperative preschool you get to be part of your child’s learning process and see how they work with other children and adults. You are watching them build their own community.”

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
- Art Room: We teach the child to have fun with art and be creative. We explore their creative side through many different mediums. We use paint, glue, scissors, fabric, wood, and much more.
- Front Room: We explore different skills involving colors, shapes, puzzles, numbers, sequencing, patterning, and language development.
- Circle Rug Room: We have group time for music, sharing time, unit study and listening to our friends. We practice sitting in a circle and following directions.
- Free Time: A time for the child to explore and learn on his/her own. To use their own-imagination and develop self-confidence.
- Outside Time: We all go outside every day to get some fresh air. We walk, run around, observe the outdoors, ride bikes and work on large motor skills.
SNACK TIME
- On co-op days parent helpers are to supply a nutritious snack. Snacks will consist of a protein, carbohydrate, and vegetable/fruit.
- The school will provide juice (made at school to cutback on sugar) and water each class day.
- Snacks are only to take the edge off hunger, not provide a meal.
- Preschoolers are encouraged to put their own snack on their plate, as well as pour their own beverage into their cup. At the end of snack, children will load their dishes into the dishwasher. Snack time is another great opportunity to provide a learning experience.
- Each year food sensitivities will dictate what will be allowed to be served.
- Homemade treats are acceptable.
- Please refer to the Handbook for additional information
